Manifesto
Inhabit the living world
without weighing on it.
Biutopic is a mission-driven company — a laboratory for ecological, artistic and technological innovation inspired by solarpunk philosophy, imagining technology in symbiosis with nature.
By exploring the regenerative potential of design, science and artificial intelligence, Biutopic seeks to demonstrate that technology can become an instrument of harmony rather than exploitation.
Its first demonstrator, L'Hydronaute, is a boat fitted with a solar-electric exoskeleton, assisted steering and a microplastic filtration system — turning the vessel into a floating laboratory to rethink tourism, mobility and our sensory relationship with the living world.
Values
- Regeneration Act beyond sustainability — seeking to repair and enrich ecosystems, not merely preserve them.
- Simplicity Develop solutions that are accessible, elegant and suited to their environment — nothing superfluous.
- Symbiosis Encourage collaboration across disciplines, between humans and non-humans, between the technical and the sensory.
- Transmission Share the knowledge, experiments and stories that emerge — making the invisible visible.
- Responsibility Design innovations that serve the environment, society and culture at once.
L'Hydronaute
L'Hydronaute is both a floating laboratory and a source of revenue securing the project's autonomy. Within Biutopic, it serves five functions.
- 01 Technology demonstration
The first boat fitted with our solar-electric exoskeleton with assisted steering, a microplastic filtration system and an artificial-intelligence module for wildlife and obstacle detection.
- 02 Experimentation ground
A mobile platform for testing decarbonised mobility, regenerative design and environmental-intelligence technologies in real conditions.
- 03 Public engagement
A vehicle for awareness and responsible tourism, offering educational voyages around biodiversity, art and the ecological transition.
- 04 Sustainable business model
The boat generates revenue through ethical rental, artist and scientist residencies, educational experiences, and the production of audiovisual content showcasing ecological innovation.
- 05 Replicable prototype
The exoskeleton is designed to be reproduced and adapted to other territories — the foundation of a future low-impact exploration and observation fleet.
L'Hydronaute is thus the experimental and economic heart of Biutopic : a living demonstrator where technology, art and ecology meet — proof that a regenerative model can be viable, poetic and concrete at once.
Mission
We work at the frontier between design, storytelling, light engineering and environmental innovation. Biutopic turns ideas into concrete, accessible and reproducible prototypes — able to raise public awareness, reveal invisible stakes, or offer new uses centred on the living world.
Put creativity at the service of nature and the real — developing solutions that improve quality of life, our relationship with the territory, and the understanding of ecological stakes, all at once.
Vision
Contribute to a future where technology becomes an ally of the living world — sensitive, sober and poetic.
Biutopic wants to help build a society where human systems integrate into the biosphere rather than dominate it — where every invention helps restore ecological balance and enrich the experience of the world.
